Is he dead?

I refuse to do research to confirm or deny the following allegations. But I’m pretty sure the following famous people have passed away:

  • James Earl Jones–He was seventy-five in Field of Dreams.
  • Willie Nelson–Either he has passed or his hair has…or, it might be that they’re actually the same thing.
  • Ringo Star–Someone tried to convince me with actual evidence that Ringo is still alive. I obviously did not believe them.
  • Dustin Diamond– This is a foregone conclusion. How long can one live without the love of his life?
  • John Matuszak— The only way this guy’s career wouldn’t take off after his star performance in Goonies is if he passed away shortly thereafter.

Downtown Vancouver Dreams

The Oregonian just published this article a day or two ago that is all about the future of downtown Vancouver. As someone who loves downtown ‘couve and whose future is intimately connected to this area I find it very intriguing.

Haiti and the church

I don’t have much to say about this but I feel very burdened by what has happened in Haiti recently. Not only am I in prayer and burdened for the Haitians and the destruction there, but I am burdened for the church. I know that seems out of place, but I hope and pray that the church (and I define “church” as groups of people who are following Christ) responds not only in prayer but as the hands and feet of Jesus in our world. I hope that Christians live up to their identity as people who live out of an alternate reality that gives them a glimpse into things unseen and therefore compels them to partner with anyone and everyone in bringing hope and restoration to the broken world.
